Jai ho…

Its an august month…..the month look like as if lines of festival and events are waiting for their turn….Independence Day…Ganesha Chaturthi .On Saturday the high audible film songs are tortured my ears and brain from morning and I was forcefully preparing myself to bear it. It is the Ganesha pendal near by our house…so I need to absorb it. As day descended to eve suddenly music got muted I thought may be some problem with electricity or with their music system. After few hours I can hear approaching sound of Thamate and Bandset. …I realized they were preparing Ganesha for procession that is why music went off.

It is an exit procession of Ganesha and Gowri of our sarakki. The youth around Ganesha and Gowri look like fully charged photons and activating a chain reaction of Fusion in a reactor. The energy of their age was adding the flavour to the roads. The same old buildings and faces in them were looking at Ganesha with a smile. The dry sky also not pouring and doing favors to their presence on road. Slowly the procession took new look and size as the people from all age groups joined it .I can make out school kids, uncles crossed 40s, approaching 50s are also joining it along with highschool boys..where as girls and aunties standing near their gate and compounds observing their dear ones. I know many of these aunties had won prize for their beautiful rangolis on the road on which now Ganesha is slowly moving on tractor to take bath of year.

The unchoreographed dance getting superbly synchronized with the beats of thamate. The troupe of boys in front of Ganesha were in the heights of their enjoyment ..for surprise they were dancing one single step which suits only to that beat and…the hands and foot movements were similar and it look really great from my house balcony..
The youth in the whole organization from priest to the dancers down … few of them were 10th failed…PUC drop outs..degree holders with ‘( )’(incomplete) along with mature heads of the locality. For Me It look as if all failed students celebrating their victory with Ganesha/of Ganesha. They do lack their determination and hard work and to plan to accomplish their dream of getting their pending exams get passed, they do failed in getting support in life to establish them self in their business, and many of them do have {immature} love failures as well .

I felt…Most of these boys may not like each other ,may not know each other and they do have rivalry for silly matters but they are together with their Josh . Ganesha had pulled out the missing hard work and determination what they lack in them self. These boys really work together and sacrificed their time and laziness and add their creativity to build pendals ..for that they wait till late night till road sleeps..that do block he road next morning and it is a separate matter. They really become nomads while collecting chanda …they manage money to bring Ganesha …for pendal..for prize money..for prasada. If they collect chanda from local politicians they can manage for orchestra also. Politicians from different parties do give huge amount ..to their ‘future’ party workers.

In between all these circus their emerges a leader amongst them .a boy with incomplete dreams become a manager..he may need to fill up money for these things and more than that he do balance mismatching minds as well. If this new emerged leader is clever enough will learn to make money out of it and do gain some fame and name … become ‘some’ hand of some party leader to campaign for him in coming elections. Other wise he will like to remain in good guy section of the locality and conduct this event with his gang successfully. The Ganesha procession may not be always a uniting procession …few will use this event to take out their rivalry also.

In that procession Small ,medium, large size failures of few boys merged with Ganesha to make it a successful event …May be one fact is that road Ganesha united the colors of street. ..communities here …at the same stage an unseen leader also stand up from the group...as mixture of thoughts were occupying my mind…. my anger vanished with their sound and I smiled at their celebration. Jai ho to their spirits….
